Eggs thrown as protesters clash outside Canary Wharf migrant hotel

Eggs are raining down on activists protesting a luxury hotel in Canary Wharf that is being converted to house migrants.
The shells appeared to be chucked from nearby skyscrapers and came close to hitting both anti-immigrant and pro-immigrant protestors near to to the four-star Britannia Hotel.
It is the second night of unrest in Canary Wharf after it emerged that the government intends to use the hotel as temporary accommodation for asylum seekers.

A college bus crashed into a river after the brakes failed and the accelerator jammed, a witness has said.
Police hailed the bravery of onlookers who helped emergency workers rescue the youngsters and the driver trapped on the Bluestar 607 bus following the accident in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
The driver and four passengers have been taken to hospital, with two of them in ‘serious but not life-threatening’ condition.

Homes evacuated and man arrested after 'bomb found near Post Office'

Homes have been evacuated and roads closed in a Welsh town centre after reports of an ‘active bomb’ near a Post Office.
A bomb squad was dispatched to a residential street New Dock Road in Llanelli, 11 miles north-west of Swansea.
Officers set up a cordon on five roads around the Post Office, which locals told Metro has been busy with police activity since this morning.

Austria is mourning the country’s deadliest mass shooting after a gunman opened fire in his former school.  
The attack at Borg Dreierschutzengasse secondary school in Graz left 11 people dead, including the suspect, and at least 12 people were injured.  
The latest victim to die is a woman, who succumbed to her injuries in hospital. The death toll is feared to rise as some of the people are critically injured.

New footage captured the moment a car drove through a crowd of Liverpool fans at a trophy parade.
A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving while unfit through drugs.
There were 65 confirmed casualties, and of those, 50 people were sent to hospital and 11 are still receiving treatment.

The country marked Victory in Europe after Germany surrendered to the Allies on May 7 after almost six years of brutal war on the continent.
It was a day full of national political events, as well as close-knit community celebrations.

Manhunt after woman hit by a van at golf course during police chase

A manhunt is underway after a police chase led to a serious collision at a championship golf course in Birmingham.
Two patrol cars were tailing a grey Nisan van truck when it collided with the woman at Aston Wood Golf Club in Little Aston at 10.25am.
Dash cam footage allegedly showed the vehicle speeding through a busy roundabout near the golf course on Blake Street.

Myanmar earthquake death toll over 1,640 with dozens missing in Bangkok

The death toll from a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has swollen to 1,644, military officials say.
The tremor, which tore though Mandalay, the country’s second-largest city, restored homes, businesses, Buddhist monsatires and roads alike.

A man trapped in his basement flat by rubble from a collapsing roof says he is lucky to be alive.
Three homes converted into flats on McGregor Road in Notting Hill, west London, were affected after the front gable end of each property collapsed.

A luxury London hotel which was devastated by a fire could have to wait years before reopening, an architect has said.
Chiltern Firehouse was set to host a star-studded Bafta party when a fire broke out from a pizza oven on Valentine’s Day and ripped through the third floor and roof.
